Loss of a Child Remembrance Poems

Thinking of You with Love
We thought of you with love today,
but that is nothing new.
We thought about you yesterday,
and days before that too.
We think of you in silence,
we often speak your name.
All we have are memories,
and your picture in a frame.
Your memory is our keepsake,
with which we will never part.
God has you in His keeping,
we have you in our hearts.
A million times we`ve wanted you.
A million times we cried.
If love could only have saved you,
you never would have died.
It broke our hearts to lose you.
But you didn`t go alone.
For a part of us went with you...
the day God called you Home.
~Author Unknown

If tears could build a stairway,
and memories a lane,
I'd walk right up to Heaven
and bring you home again.
No farewell words were spoken
no time to say goodbye
you were gone before I knew it,
and only God knows why.
My heart still aches in sadness
and secret tears still flow,
what it meant to lose you,
no one will ever know.
~Author Unknown

Oh Mother, My Mother
I touch your tears,
invisible fingers soothing your skin
I know you think of me so often
in the day, in the night, in your dreams
going into an empty nursery
knowing I'll never be there
but I am...in your heart, in your soul,
I shall always be
for you gave so unselfishly of yourself
Inside of you, you created
such a world for me
a world of laughter, of love
of sadness, of sorrow
every emotion people come to know
you shared with me.
And even though I may never feel your arms around me
I felt your heart beating,
like a lullaby, singing me to sleep.
and your spirit giving me a safe haven
already protecting me, nurturing me
preparing me for things to come
But sometimes the journey of life pulls souls apart
and yes, I had to go on to another place.
I wish I could stay
I wish this was a decision I could make
and I know you do too.
Know this, wherever you are:
I will always remember
that yours was the first love
the first joy, the first soul
I will ever know
you gave me the courage to
go on in my journey
I hope I can do the same for you
Your heart beat will always call me to you.

Love, your child

Someone Is Missing
Someone is missing from our dinner table,
from our bedroom and our home.
Someone is missing from holiday celebrations,
family vacations and everywhere in between.
Someone is missing from our lives,
Our littlest one is gone.
He will not have birthday parties, graduations, or celbrations.
We will miss him throughout eternity
and our family will never be complete.
Someone is missing, yet we go on.
Our lives are touched by him.
Changed forever by his brief existence.
His memory we keep alive.
He lives only in our hearts and minds,
We were blessed by his short life.
Our love for him forever strong.
Even though...someone will always be...MISSING.

A Mother's Day Ode
I am your mother, but you, my child, I cannot hold.
It'll get easier with time, or so I'm told.
People may forget that I am your mother.
I'm part of a secret club we only share with one another.
But that doesn't diminish my love for you.
I think of you the whole day through.
I wonder what you're doing, my Precious Little One.
We are connected by an Infinite bond which cannot come undone.
I will not let Death tear us apart.
I promise to always keep you alive in my heart.

To our Yellow Rose of Texas
Born the 25th of July.
We love you and miss you,
Your Dad, brother, and I.

Happy 3rd Birthday, Michelle,
We're so sorry you're not here.
We always thought we'd see you
Grow another year.

We feel your presence daily,
Though you're not here right now.
And though we can't see you,
We know you see us somehow.

And you want us to be happy
And to remember you with a smile,
And to tell us that you'll see us
In just a little while.

In the meantime, our sweet girl,
Please know how much you're loved.
We miss you more than ever,
But keep trusting our God above.

And so we celebrate you, Michelle--
You're forever in our hearts and prayers.
You're our little darling so many love so well,
Who now runs up and down Heaven's golden stairs!

With love from Mommy, Daddy, and Austin
We love you and miss you, Big Girl!

My Special Gift
You came in a hurry,
Way too soon.
My special gift.

Your life was short,
But you taught me so much.
It isnít fair,
I had to let you go.
You were my special gift from God.

I miss you everyday
Not a minute goes by,
That I donít think of you.
My special gift.

So many memories we made together,
I will cherish you forever.
My special gift from God.

I canít wait til the day
We will be reunited
I will hold you forever.
I love you, always.
My special gift from God.

To My Kylee
My beautiful baby girl, you will always be in my heart and mind.
Mommy will love you until the end of time.
My heart has an empty space
Because I can't see your beautiful face

Your sandy blonde hair was soft and fine
When I looked at you, there was no denying you were mine
I know you would have loved to dance
If only we would have had the chance

Every day I look for a sign that you are around
Like the soft whisper of a butterfly circling round
The other day I saw a rainbow in the sky
Maybe it was your way of saying Hi

Everyday I shed a tear
Wishing that you were here
Until we meet in Heaven above.
Just know I am sending you my love.

Song Of A Dying Infant
I am gently dying.
No need to cry.
No need to say good bye.
I go in peace, into a sky of butterflies and tiny golden birds that never cease to sing.
I will take wing.

Memory of a Miscarriage
Spirit Wings Carrying the seed of life, an unborn child
soon vanished in blood,
never feeling until journeying into life,
its presence about her,
swimming in her head and wonderings,
a child of spirit living still with its soul intact.
Feathery, in a space unseen around her,
out of touch but near to its mothers needs
when a mothers mind bleeds.

In Your Heart
Please mommy, dont cry, do not be sad.
Treasure the time how ever short we had.
I miss you too, but I can feel your love.
Even up here flying, like a little dove.

I know it seems scary, and you feel all alone.
No one can ever replace me, I was your own.
Your sadness means I was loved every day.
Though you cant see me, beside you I lay.

It takes so much courage, for you to go on.
I know our time together, wasnt very long.
But you now will be stronger for knowing me.
It will be okay some day mommy, you will soon see.

In the times that are hard, remember I am here.
Never far from you watching; always very near.
It isnt fair we have to live so far away.
But dont worry; I hear everything that you say.

I am with you with every step that you take.
Sending reminders I love you, for your sake.
I grew in your womb but then slipped away.
Instead now forever in your heart I will stay.

Your Love for Watermelon
You took away my tears, shame, deep sorrows and brought me real substance to life: abundance of joy and happiness

The juicy taste of watermelon, ice water and purple freezes during the hot summer brought us laughter and playful times together

No one could take our love and togetherness away; you brought me contentment beyond what words can state we danced with music and fell asleep together

Your eyes of purity, the face of your father, the golden colour of your skin, the hair of your mother made you look so handsome

After 36 weeks you had a stroke and drained and my heart with emptiness and left me with deep pain. I held you for one minute of my life in my arms but you did not wake up. I kissed you on your forehead but you did not wake up

Tears in my eyes and the disparity cannot go away: our time together Isaac was the best time of my life. I love you so much till we meet again my son.
